My favorite assignments this month, or subjects were the posts from the 77th Emmys, and collaborating with content creators on Pinterest and Instagram. I enjoyed getting to know Kim, Alexis, and Toni. Their different perspectives, tools, and tricks for creating interesting content that keeps their audiences engaged will be helpful going forward in my career.
I understand why we need to use social media for work, for networking, all that. But It just feels too invasive. I’m not sure the trade-off is worth it. While AI aims to make life easier, I feel it’s diminishing our creative freedom and control. Being able to delegate social media tasks or handle them independently is important to me, so I need to understand the platforms and their professional uses. I’m gonna keep my social media use to the bare minimum.I’m comfortable with using the platforms I’ve chosen to expand my audience. I will post myself occasionally so that I stay I can stay familiar with the changes in the platforms. However, posting and mainting a social media presence is not something I particularly want to do myself on a day to day basis if I can avoid it.
My goal for this class was to gain a deeper understanding of how various social media platforms like Pinterest, Instagram,TikTok, Facebook, Threads and Twitter work. Understanding when to use various sites, and what media works best on each platform will help me reach a large allows a large audience quickly and effectively.
